About Me!

AquaMizu

My name is Aqua! I'm located in Southern California and I love the performing arts! I am mainly a self taught artist that makes digital art for fun and for on the side work. My art style heavily influenced by cartoons and anime growing up, my goal is to continue to improve one step at a time and to meet other artists in the community to learn from and create stronger bonds.
I graduated from California School of The Arts and currently have a main job as a photographer at the Disneyland Resort, where I make memories all over the resort for thousands of guests.
I started drawing early in elementary school, being heavily inspired by the cartoons that I watched, the minecraft youtuber thumbnail art I kept seeing on my favorite youtuber's chanels, and the anime I secretly watched behind my parents back. I grabbed a classic "learn how to draw manga characters" book from my local Michaels and the rest is history!
The name AquaMizu started from a previous name, I went by AquaSorceress as my first online name. I was a HUGE fan of a youtuber named "SetoSorcerer", and I wanted to name myself after him. Picking Aqua, short for my favorite color aquamarine, the first name was born. It was originally used for my fan edits back on vine and youtube, I also competed in AMV competitions across the globe.
I wanted to create a seperate account just for my art, I wanted something shorter and easier to remember while wanting to keep "Aqua". Being inspired by anime and japanese culture and my natural love for water and marine biology, I decided on "Mizu" meaning water in japanese.
Putting together Aqua and Mizu, you got AquaMizu! :D
